Bunratty Castle and Folk Park
We are just 1km away from Bunratty Castle on the Low Road. The Medieval Fortress was built in 1425 and restored to its former splendour in 1954. The castle houses the Burnratty Collection, 450 pieces of Medieval furniture and artifacts. At nighttime, the castle is the impressive setting for its popular Medieval banquets, held all year round. Within the grounds is the folk park, where 19th Century life is vividly recreated. Set on 26 acres, the impressive park features over 30 buildings, including a schoolhouse, post office and doctor’s house in a living village setting.
Outdoor Leisure
we are the perfect location for outdoor adventure pursuits such as walking, cycling, golfing and angling to name a few. As are located on the Wild Atlantic Way, we are close to many beaches that offer great swimming, surfing, sailing and sea-angling. We love taking day trips to Kilkee Cliffs and Beach or the Burren National park and Cliffs of Moher. Maps and advice on day trips will be given on site.
Dromoland Golf course and Shannon is just a 15 minute drive away from Park House B&B and is one of the best inland 18 hole championship courses in Munster and Ireland. Also Adare Golf course, Lahinch and Ballybunnion and Limerick.
Limerick
We are 10 minutes drive from the Limerick city set on the Shannon River. We will guide you on lovely day trips to another medieval castle called King Johns Castle (shannonheritage.com). This Castle has a interactive museum and from there we will give you a walking tour to the Treaty stone, Curragower Pub (curragower.com) and back to the Milk Market and the hunt museum (huntmuseum.com) to ensure a lovely day out and maybe finishing off the day with dinner in Dolans Pub with live traditional Irish music (dolans.ie) every evening.
